"The Art of Sierra" official opening coming very soon!
Unfortunately there is a slight delay in the launch of their website, but our friends at "The Art of Sierra" want it to be absolutely perfect. The site has to be just as incredible as the art we're celebrating. Personally I can't wait to read every single page of it but we'll have to hold our patience for just a little bit longer.
As you may or may not know, The Art of Sierra is also working on a book, filled with rich illustrations of Sierra's graphic adventure games and accompanied by tons of information by the artists themselves. While they have shown some teaser shots of the book's content, which you can see at "The Art of Sierra" Facebook page, we are delighted to show you the very first and exclusive picture of the book's cover, taken on the book shoot that occurred on the 13-16th of July.

The Sierra Video Catalog 1989
Hail Youtube for increasing the maximum video length to 15 minutes! Now we could finally upload an entire Sierra Video Catalog in one piece and insert it in the publications section of the Chest. The search for the other video catalogs goes on.
Gnome's Lair interviews the Sierra Chest
On July 5, Gnome's Lair published an interview with Rudy, creator of the Sierra Chest and collector of all things Sierra. The interview covers how Rudy became such a Sierra addict, his collection, how the Sierra Chest started and what his plans for the site are.
The Silver Lining now available as free download!
At last, the long-awaited unofficial ending to the King's Quest series has been released! On July 10 Phoenix Online has released the first of five episodes of the game, titled "What is Decreed Must Be". As this first episode is more of an introduction to the Land of the Green Isles and our beloved game characters, it is dominated by beautifully rendered cut scenes but little game play, so people can familiarize themselves again with the world of King's Quest before the real adventure puzzles. More episodes should be released in the coming months where game play will become much deeper.
You can download the first episode for free from here.
And that is not all. Immediately upon release of The Silver Lining, an entry of the game has been created in the Sierra Chest. Though this site would normally cover only the games officially created or published by Sierra and/or Vivendi, we made an exception for the Silver Lining. Knowing how much time the devoted fans of Phoenix Online have put in this game, that Roberta Williams herself has played and enjoyed the game, and considering how deeply the game touched us, it would be a shame not to give TSL its rightful place in the King's Quest section of this site.
Enjoy!
