John Trauger

Biography

"Sierra's original home was in the sleepy mountain hamlet of Oakhurst, CA. It's gone now (Sierra, not Oakhurst), shut down by french people who didn't want to make money. I made my mark testing games (not nearly as much fun as it sounds), was lead QA Analyst for Space Quest VI and Gabriel Knight 2. I moved on to design the characters, game mechanics, etc for early MMO The Realm. I guess you could say I was the lead designer but that doesn't have the same punch when you're the only designer. My final game at Sierra was their ill-fated Babylon 5: Into the Fire game. I did assistant-design work, writing generic missions and the games extensive database of the B5 Universe. I was also the game's in-house continuity cop. The Oakhurst office was closed in 1999 while B5:ItF was in production. It was moved to Sierra's Corporate office in WA state. I worked on the game as a contractor until it was cancelled September 1999."
